Most faceters are recluses by nature. We also tend to be night owls. That is why this blog post comes at 1 am. The shop is busy as always. There is new Tourmaline from Brazil that Allyce is cutting. Most of the rough is silvery purple and looks like Spinel at a glance. Allyce, being the sucker for Tourmaline she is, has been cutting 3 of these beauties to make a match set…most likely for herself, but none the less she took photos…  

  For myself, I have been working on a nice size cranberry red Zircon. It’s the Tanzanian material, and I heated it from the deep red color to this brighter cranberry red. Just finished the crown and we’ll see how it comes out when it falls off tomorrow morning. I did 3 photos during the polish stage…
