Tourmaline is such a lovely gem material, but Rubellite is some of the best. Nigerian material is challenging to obtain in any quantity, which is a shame because it is some of the best Rubellite on the planet. This stone is a deep red color face up with purple and orange highlights. The pleochroic nature of the Tourmaline causes the variations in the color, and it is notably distinct when the stone moves in the light. It glitters beautifully, and the polish of the stone is quite brilliant. The clarity of this gem is excellent for Rubellite, which tends to have many inclusions.
