Color: Emerald Green

Locality: Diana Maria Mine, Frosterley, Durham, England
The Diana Maria mine in England is one of the most famous Fluorite mines in the world, and for good reason. The mine has been producing Limestone since the 19th century, but only recently has been in commercial production for Fluorite mineral specimens. The specimens are typically plates of gorgeous green and blue inter penetrant Fluorite cubes that glow. The crystals are small as a rule but of the finest quality. They are sought after by collectors and there is little of the material available since it is a small family managed operation. The gemstones from this material are beautiful. This stone is the iconic emerald green color that the locality is beloved for. The concave round cut looks excellent with Fluorite and the dances in the light. Another great feature of this material is the daylight fluorescence. This stone fluoresces a blue in regular daylight when backlit, and a brilliant blue under UV! This stone is quite large for the material and will make a stunning piece of jewelry. Enjoy!
