Here is an excellent Sphene gem! This piece is from the relatively new find of Sphene in Madagascar. The deposit in Madagascar produced some of the finest quality Sphene ever found on the planet! The dispersion in this gem is excellent with flashes of yellow, orange, red, and even blue! The cut is a modified Portugues round shape, and the design works well on this high RI mineral. The stone weighs nearly 5 carats, which is an excellent size for this material, especially with this clarity. Sphene, also known as Titanite, has been popular on the market because of its high refractive index and beautiful green color, similar to green Diamonds and Demantoid Garnet. Enjoy!
