Sphene, also known as Titanite, is a lovely material because it has a high refractive index that displays dispersion (beautiful color flash) in faceted gems. This stone glitters with flashes of bright red, orange and green dispersion along the edges. The stone is primarily a yellow color with hints of an olive green color, like an overtone. Sphene has been popular on the market recently and good stone are now becoming difficult to obtain. This stone has excellent size, being over 10 carats, and great clarity for the size. Sphene is suitable for jewelry, but not advisable in rings. Enjoy!
