This is a stunning Garnet! The stone is from a find in Mozambique that was quite special. The find had this gorgeous pink material but would shift in color depending on the temperature of the light. In incandescent light the stone is a hot pink color, and in fluorescent light the stone is a purple/pink. The find was very brief and the material all sold immediately because of the nice intensity of color. Pyrope-Almandine is a hybrid Garnet due to the amount of trace chemical elements in the stone. More commonly the material is called Rhodolite, however, this material is different than most traditional Rhodolite from localities like Tanzania because of the amounts of trace elements. This stone is quite special. It has been fantasy cut on the pavilion to create this beautiful zig-zag pattern. The pattern is intriguing and mesmerizing. The stone is so flashy in hand! The color is vibrant and glitters beautifully through the stone. The clarity of the stone is excellent which is perfect for this type of cutting style.
