This lovely material is new from Zimbabwe and fantastic quality. Good quality Sphene rough only comes from a handful of localities, and the majority of it is a less than desirable brown color. Sphene, also known as Titanite, has been popular on the market because of its high refractive index that demonstrates fabulous dispersion. The dispersion in this gem is quite nice with flashes of yellow, orange and even blue! The stone has excellent clarity and just dances in hand. Sphene is actually quite rare and good quality material is always in high demand. Enjoy!
