Here is a beautiful and playful carving! This is a piece of stunning bright orange Fire Opal that just glows. Mexican Fire Opal has been around for decades and is still highly sought after on today’s market. This stone came from material that was mined in the 1980’s and is quiet stable. The carving was shaped into this unique freeform, with beautiful curves and elegant bubbles carved into the surface. The piece has different appearance from each side, and the bubble give these fish eye viewing windows into the stone for an intriguing effect. The smooth polished surface has a sensual feel to it, and the piece is fun to play with. The piece is a great size for jewelry and would be stunning in a custom wire wrap. This gem was hand carved by Allyce Kosnar of Kosnar Gem Co., during August 2017. Enjoy!
