Xonotlite is an ultra-rare Calcium Silicate mineral. Originally discovered in Mexico, this mineral is typically opaque and fibrous. Gemmy material was found in Italy some years later, and was facetable! The mineral is fairly hard, the Italian material has fair durability and will accept a great polish. There are only a handful of these in the world and this is a great size rare gem. Enjoy!
