Natural Spinel crystals are beautiful when they are this complete all around. This crystal has fantastic gem clear areas, and fine natural luster. Spinel crystals are typically octahedrons and often enough twinned, however I do not see a twin line here. This crystal has not been shaped or polished in anyway by man, this is the natural form. The reason this crystal is complete all the way around is because it was etched out of a solid piece of marble, which is the common practice for extricating these crystals. This crystal could be used as cutting rough but would look fine in a piece of jewelry as is. Enjoy!
