Sphene, also known as Titanite, is a lovely material because it has a high refractive index that displays dispersion (beautiful color flash) in faceted gems. This stone glitters with flashes of bright red, orange and green dispersion throughout the entire stone. The stone is primarily a bright yellow color with hints of an olive green color, like an overtone. Sphene has been popular on the market recently and good stone are now becoming difficult to obtain. This stone has great clarity and is quite stunning in person. Sphene is suitable for jewelry, but not advisable in rings. Enjoy!
