Here is something new and fantastic! This is Vascular Opal! This material was found this year in northern Mexico. The name is derived from the red vein formations that look like blood vessels in the orange/yellow body of the Opal. This Opal is harder than traditional Mexican Opal, it cuts and polishes more like an Agate than and Opal. The crown of this stone has the natural botryoidal formation of the Opal that has a bubbly flow that is quite attractive. The other sides plus the back have been cabbed smooth and polished. This material also fluoresces bright green under short wave UV! It will make a one of a kind custom pendant that will be spectacular! I have never seen an Opal quite like this before. It is such an exciting new material and is from a small mining production. This excellent new Opal is completely natural and untreated! This gemstone was cabbed by Brett Kosnar of Kosnar Gem Co. during July 2016. Enjoy!
