This is a nice quality Opal! The Opal itself is white/orange mixed color, but the flash is bright multi-color flash. It has a flowing stripped pattern that is beautiful. The flash is well placed in the center of the stone and the color changes every time it is moved. Getting a piece of rough this large to facet is difficult because most of the rough is smaller, and large pieces usually are bought up for making cabochons. The oval cut sharpens up the appearance of the color flash for an attractive look the cabochon gems just can’t produce. We have made several pieces of jewelry with these Opals, mostly pendants, and they always come out spectacular. Enjoy!
