Is a Beryllium Phosphate and is where its name is derived from. It was discovered in 1888 by James Dwight Dana who was one of the fore fathers of modern Mineralogy. Beryllonite is fairly uncommon and clean stones are extremely rare. Few phosphates like to be cabbed because they tend to be brittle and inclusions are even more of a challenge. So few of these cat’s eye stones exist. This is a unique and rare collector’s stone and is very difficult to replace! Enjoy!
