Imperial Topaz is some of the most coveted material on the market and is sought after as intensely as Paraiba Tourmaline and Padparadscha Sapphire. Most of the gemstones sold the market are small and a pale orange color, but this is not the fine quality material. The fine material has a mandarin orange color that is extremely attractive. However, there is another rare shade to Imperial Topaz crystals that is not widely known, because the material rarely is found. The tips of the crystals will sometimes grow a luscious pink color. As a rule, the crystals are only found with small tips of pink, less the 30% of the overall crystal. The Imperial Topaz mines have been producing small quantities of material for about 50 years, since the materials bg break onto the market in the 1970’s. This stone is quite a rarity because it was faceted as a bi-color, displaying both the fine orange, and the rare pink colors together. This is a 100% natural gemstone and has not been treated in any way. The majority of this material is riddled with inclusions, and can hardly be called gem grade. For the size and rarity of this stone the clarity is quite good. Only a handful of minerals on the planet come in a natural bi-color state and are highly desired by most collectors.
