This is actually a rare gem from Nigeria. Apatite is a fairly uncommon mineral, and large crystals are even rarer. This stone is over 8 carats, which is a large stone for most gems. It is a purely colorless stone and very bright in hand. The stone has several inclusions, but is understandable for it’s large size. The cut is called a Mumble, which is a hard shaped trillion design we use. The cut creates a unique and stunning appearance for Apatite! This tone can be set into a pendant and it will glitter for across the room. However, this is also a collector’s gemstone for its unusually large size. This stone was faceted by Robert Heath. Enjoy!
