Here is a stunning Sapphire! This material was mined in 1992 from Madagascar. It is a unique material and reminiscent of the fantastic Sapphires from Australia. Most of the material has a silky appearance that enhances the color and gives the stones a misty Fire Opal quality. This silk varies in quantity from stone to stone and is such a unique and desirable trait. This is a bicolor stone being silky blue and bright yellow. There are few minerals on the planet that come in bi-colors, and all of them make unique gemstones. The gem glitters beautifully in hand and will make an impressive center stone for a piece of jewelry. The cut is a lovely square cushion shape.
