This is a large Star Ruby! India has produced some of the largest rubies ever found, and certainly the largest Star Rubies in the world. The Indian Star Rubies demonstrate high chatoyancy because of crystal growth and inclusion destiny. This stone displays a reasonably sharp and well-defined 6 ray star. This stone would be excellent for a ring center stone, and especially for a man’s ring. The star is visible in normal light conditions, and is sharp under direct sunlight. The Ruby itself is a purple that is approaching pigeon blood color. Rubies fluoresce bright red, and this stone is no exception. I have included a photo of this stone under UV light and it glows extremely bright! I also included photos of this stone in hand and it is impressive thing to hold! This Ruby is completely natural and untreated. Enjoy!
